Sean Hoffmann, Jumpin' Jack Flash
Sean is from Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. In grade school his mother provided his first guitar using S&H Green Stamps. It had that classic “cheese grater action”, and was set aside after several years of folk lessons. In high school he heard Kiss “Alive” and pined for a Les Paul guitar but settled for one from Sears and Roebuck. His first record purchase was ELO’s “A New World Record" and his musical roots include everything from the Brothers Four to Grieg’s Peer Gynt. As a teen, Sean joined bands with friends which eventually lead to Northbound; recently reformed after a 25 year hiatus.
He sang tenor in his church choir, which allowed him to cantor on occasion. He plays guitar and bass and, after a few years of focusing more on bass (and learning to love the 5-string), he is pleased for a gig with all six strings! He likes guitarists who are uniquely recognizable after a few notes such as Angus Young, Ace Frehley, Gary Richrath, and Brian May.
Sean is also currently working with bands Scheer Element and Northbound.
